Global Category Manager
Can you drive and develop global sourcing and category management of various technical non-food Product groups demanded by the maritime industry?
Do you thrive with the responsibility of managing strategic sourcing of Non-Food Products and category management, by building relations with the global vendor community and creating the best possible sourcing position for Wrist considering total cost price, quality, availability, logistics and ensuring customer centricity?
Wrist Ship Supply is looking for a Global Category Manager specialized in sourcing technical articles with both global and local product- and sourcing experience. You will have significant freedom in building and maintaining a strong supplier portfolio, initiate and close significant contract negotiations and generally keep abreast of category market movements and customer requirements.
With reference to our Head of Global Category Management, you will become part of a strong Global Category Management team within a growing organization. You will have two fellow Global Category Managers within Stores, as well as two Global Category Manager colleagues on Provision. You will also work with our Category Coordinators and regional category managers around the world.
In this role, you will work closely with the sales team, in which you will analyze the market data and identify the relevant assortments matching customer needs and sourced according to your developed global category strategies.
More specifically, your key responsibilities will be:
Total cost optimization:
- Analyzing purchasing trends, commodity development, execute benchmarking and convert into financial improvement of the business.
- Search the market for identification of new vendors and opportunities and incorporate those in the business.
- Working Capital optimization (Payment Terms & Days of Sales Inventory)
- Vendor Consolidation and vendor integration of full catalogue digital data
- Contract coverage and compliance
Category Strategy development and execution:
- Execute procurement strategy and translate into objectives and targets
Assortment development and execution:
- Understand consumer patterns and translate the data in to new products/assortments and/or new vendors
- Optimize assortments and Landed Cost per item throughout the organization by leading the definition, item alignment and roll out of global and regional assortment programs
- Supplier relations management to maximize cooperation
- Deliver saving budgets and deliver on key procurement KPI´s
In this role annual travel will be around 20-30 days, primarily for supplier meetings, attending trade fairs, and meeting colleagues from around the world.

Qualifications & requirements
Preferably, you have a strong background in sourcing, purchasing or sales, with experience in global sourcing and category management related to Stores products (Non-Food items).
In addition, you possess 5-10 years of demonstrated experience leading global sourcing across various Non-Food categories ensuring strong supplier relations and extensive experience of optimizing cost levels i within each category.

- Your approach is data driven and your decisions are based on facts
- You possess strong negotiation-, communication- and influencing skills
- You have extensive experience with global sourcing and a strong procurement toolbox
- You have some experience in building assortments in cooperation with sales
- Experience being project lead of development of category strategies and sourcing strategies
- Global experience is a significant advantage, as is high proficiency in English
It is an advantage if you also have a strong business and economic understanding either through a Master degree or relevant courses.
